Stephanie Monday is an actress in theatre, film, TV, and commercial work. She has played the role of Prospero in Midsommer Flight’s celebrated production of William Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST under the direction of Beth Wolf. She also played the highly acclaimed titular role in J.B. for City Lit Theatre, written by Archibald MacLeish, and directed by Brian Pastor. In and around Chicago, Stephanie has had the honor of working with nationally and internationally nominated and award-winning actors, writers, and directors. She has worked on plays and projects for Steppenwolf Theatre under the direction of both Bruce Norris and Anna Shapiro, Strawdog Theatre under the direction of Elly Green, Stage Left Theatre, and Piven Theatre. Regionally, she has worked with the American Southwest Theatre Company under the direction of Mark Medoff, as well as the Madison Rep, and University Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Stephanie appeared in The Onion's Clickhole productions of POWERFUL: THE BARRELMAKER and LINCOLN SCHOLARS. She also appeared in the film SOUTHSIDE WITH YOU, directed by Richard Tanne, which was recognized at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. In addition, she appeared in a 2016 Super Bowl commercial for Turkish Airlines in collaboration with the film BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN as an evil politician and supporter of Lex Luther played by Jesse Eisenberg, as directed by Nick Gordon.
Born, raised, and educated in Madison, Wisconsin, Stephanie continues to be an ardent fan of the city and the University. She received her B.A. in Communications with a specialization in Public Address and her M.F.A. in Acting, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
